hte other day, I just opened in my bible randomly, and first I got : http://kingjbible.com/john/17.htm
among other things more personal, I would remark this part :
Quote
And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: 23I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. 24Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

And I was wondering wheter this which is somethign so important, Jesus prayer, a prayer which when you read it, is as if Jesus was praying the very moment you read it... but in which extent the churches or even us have this concept of unity present, and in which manner do we regard that? it is something we can understand? I mean understand as consiously on its real level of significance? or maybe that level of unity will be clarified when the two witnesses come, and all the men docrtines are reomved from church (or whatever)?

And other part I come to read was thisHosea, from the chapter 2 and on, it has some interesting concepts related to our world, men... its rulers, some part of the church whatever which could fit into it... :

Quote
18And in that day will I make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven, and with the creeping things of the ground: and I will break the bow and the sword and the battle out of the earth, and will make them to lie down safely.

19And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies.

20I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the LORD.

21And it shall come to pass in that day, I will hear, saith the LORD, I will hear the heavens, and they shall hear the earth;

22And the earth shall hear the corn, and the wine, and the oil; and they shall hear Jezreel.

23And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God.

Quote
9Strangers have devoured his strength, and he knoweth it not: yea, gray hairs are here and there upon him, yet he knoweth not.

10And the pride of Israel testifieth to his face: and they do not return to the LORD their God, nor seek him for all this.

11Ephraim also is like a silly dove without heart: they call to Egypt, they go to Assyria.

12When they shall go, I will spread my net upon them; I will bring them down as the fowls of the heaven; I will chastise them, as their congregation hath heard.

13Woe unto them! for they have fled from me: destruction unto them! because they have transgressed against me: though I have redeemed them, yet they have spoken lies against me.

14And they have not cried unto me with their heart, when they howled upon their beds: they assemble themselves for corn and wine, and they rebel against me.

15Though I have bound and strengthened their arms, yet do they imagine mischief against me.

16They return, but not to the most High: they are like a deceitful bow: their princes shall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue: this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.

Quote
4They have set up kings, but not by me: they have made princes, and I knew it not: of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.

5Thy calf, O Samaria, hath cast thee off; mine anger is kindled against them: how long will it be ere they attain to innocency?

6For from Israel was it also: the workman made it; therefore it is not God: but the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.

Quote
12I have written to him the great things of my law, but they were counted as a strange thing.

13They sacrifice flesh for the sacrifices of mine offerings, and eat it; but the LORD accepteth them not; now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt.

14For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and buildeth temples; and Judah hath multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.

Quote
9I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city.

10They shall walk after the LORD: he shall roar like a lion: when he shall roar, then the children shall tremble from the west.

11They shall tremble as a bird out of Egypt, and as a dove out of the land of Assyria: and I will place them in their houses, saith the LORD.

12Ephraim compasseth me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Judah yet ruleth with God, and is faithful with the saints.

I have read on and on explanation of prophecies regarding end of times and such.. but I have always believed that in all profecies it is better to try to fing some correlation with ones life, but in this case, I thought there was a global reference which I think it matches better the actual world situation, so , I just want to put clear a concept here, that the world(secular) will be getting one and on worst, and at a certain point there will be salvation for all of God's congregation, actual and future(I mean the renmant of future believers yet to come) but as for what it reads in revelations wont be a simple thing to be...

Quote
And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. 8And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. 9And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. 10And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.

11And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them. 12And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them. 13And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

Well, they don't call it the apocalypse for northing!

But the question is always how much longer will the world deteriorate before God says enough already and the kick off starts?  Huh

Chris.

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

I think nothing will be much the way it is now, how knows, maybe we wont even will get a pc to connect and share things like this, maybe it will be more oldfashioned... I mean, in any sens it can be more deteriorated, maybe in other aspect, extreme technology development is a way of watching  Gods creation deteriorating on and on...

I know that feeling...used to live like that years ago...I could handle that again, but I wonder how many of our young people could? that would be called "roughing it" and they would not know how! We'd have to go back to writing letters and posting them like I still do with some people.  Wink

Great is Thy faithfulness O God my father. There is no shadow of turning with Thee.  Thou changest not, Thy compassions they fail not. As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be... GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS.!

Hey some of us never got into the social networking scene and still do see people's faces.

God doesn't NEED technology, and we don't NEED it, but we can certainly use it as a tool. Tools are funny in that they can be used for both good and evil, or sometimes neither, just plain use. We won't need it at all in heaven, but I must confess I do hope God has some sort of electric guitar replacement ready... that would be nice. I don't have a problem with technology in and of itself, just it's use for evil.
