For me its more like iodine. I use it for infections like cuts and bites, after using alcohol. My daughter used it on strep throat and it was clearing up the next day, dramatically. My son-in-law used it on an infected sore on his foot and it cleared it right up. Its nice because it can be used orally as well as topically.
It kills bacteria.
Same, Same..Silver is Silver.... jest different name.... You gots to watch the: concentration of 500 ppm... This stuff is not for long time use, Two weeks. max. for flu & colds. It will turn you into a Gray Allien
The weaker solutions around 30 ppm are more designed for oral use, and about a tablespoon. For myself as a surface swish for oral I use an eye dropper full and hold it on the area for a couple of minutes, such as on an infected tooth, or gargling for a sore throat. I also swish and gargle with a tablespoon of straight Old Charter,(I keep a dusty pint in my desk drawer and every couple of years I go and buy a new one).
Too much is said to have detrimental effects. The green/gray effect is probably from the liver being overloaded. There were some 1938 studies with 50,000 ppm, but in small doses.
