Tom...is that you playing the prelude fiddle to the studies?

While I was mulling the mellon and listening to "The second half of the book of John
chapter 1, verses 15-40."

John 1:31

1:31 And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.

Besides the verses about his ministry found in Isaiah.
I thought as well, John telling the people that he was the person and fulfillment of the prophecy given to us by the prophet Malachi.

Malachi 3:1

3:1 Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.

Of course..... maybe this prophecy not only speaks of John during his mission to announce the Lord....but also futuristic as you mentioned!?

Malachi 4:5-6

4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:
4:6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

I am so excited today by the reading of John 1 and while I do not mean to be a blabber latherer it is so cool to share!

 

Anyways...Tom, I had a look at the pre wrath site to read Pastor Alan Kurschner commentary about the Coming of Elijah.

He has made an excellent point saying the coming of Elijah as prophesied must take place before the rapture and "before the great and terrible day of the LORD arrives" (Mal 4:5).
 
I was thinking about a few of our friends the first one who comes to mind is Flynn who as well believes the 2 witnesses will arrive in the beginning of the tribulation. In fact David has stated he thinks according to his calculations this has already started this July!

I have been visiting news sites in Israel to try to get a feel for who is on the streets there right now TEACHING and Witnessing!

Really exciting to think about them arriving soon!

ya thats me playin the fiddle.  I figured I could trot out some of my old tunes and whatnot, but I'll probably change to a different kind of music each week, instead of having a theme.  I think of it like mental "ginger", a pallete cleanser before studying the word.

Thanks so much for you kind words.  I figured you'd want to be following someone who was actually capable of teaching Gods word, but hey, I wont stop you if you want to "slum it" a bit with me!

regarding Isaiah/Malachi

Ya, typically people go there, and Malachi writing is obviously is THE prophecy about John.  However, you may have inadvertantly touched on something that has been rolling around in my head for awhile now.

Who, exactly, are the children of Abraham?
Who are the true vine?
Who ,exactly, was John the Baptist?

This relates somewhat to John chapter 2 actually.  You'll have to wait till sunday to see it.

Think about that for a bit.

The  piece  treaty  is  not  a  official  thing..  And  is  still  being  tossed  around .  .Israel  must  be  liveing  in  7yr  piece  treaty  before  the  2 wittnesses  come  into  play...  The  way  i  understand it..  Flynn  may  be  jumping  the  gun  a little.  But  never  the  less  we  must  follow  this  rite  up  to  the  verry  second  of  time.........

I am running a little experiment, and I could sure use your help...

In the categories section of my podcast, i have set it, intentionally, to appear in the religion:Islam ranking system.

If I can get it to post in the top 20 (which I did in the religion: Christian category last week) I can get it posted to appear in a truncated list for all those who download Islamic podcasts.

If you would be so kind as to download this one week, and tell all your friends to do the same, I think we can get MTBS exposed to the people who download the "Islam" feed for a week.

The goal is to get mtbs to rank high in a category I intentionally misfile it in, most likely "new age".

Sort of trying to drag this bible study right in front of the new agers faces...

The counter seems to count overall downloads for the week, so just as long as I get alot of downloads, that's the key.
