World of Prophecy, previously a privately run forum, revamped and reborn in July 2005. In the past, this was also known as
Eastwood's World of Prophecy. That name was changed after its creator remembered to give
his Creator the glory, instead of himself. Unfortunately for us, our Founder - Brother Eastwood - has moved on to other Ministry opportunities but the Admins and Mods here do our best to hold to the high standards both the Bible and Bro East have set here
That's the basic rule here for everyone.
This place exists to glorify God - not to provide an open forum on Christianity or to operate as a debate hall. People are invited in and escorted out based on their behavior, sincerity, maturity and humility. Rude, obnoxious people won't be tolerated for long!
Over the years, WoP has become a sort of internet church - a place to gather, worship, exhort, learn and grow together with like-minded Bible-Believers, and sincere seekers. Please show the same decorum that you would at a church fellowship or get-together and you'll do just fine. Remember: as you progress and show yourself to be trustworthy, you'll gain more access and permissions throughout the site.
We love to add new people to the list of "regulars" and look forward to becoming friends.
Bottom line: Act like Jesus Christ is in the room. Because He Is. That doesn't mean you have to act all pious - far from it! It just means that this isn't a playground or back alley, but rather a House in cyberspace, dedicated to the One Triune God.
The Administrators and Moderators here are all Bible-lovin' doctrine hounds and after years of "ministry" on the net, we've seen virtually everything and don't much appreciate religiousity and false doctrine. Around here, if the Bible says it, and the concept is backed up by the Whole of Scripture, then it's the Truth. Man-made religions and false doctrines are routinely destroyed here by shedding the Light of Scripture on them.
It's not that we think we're so smart - we aren't! But we ARE
grounded on a
FOUNDATION:
The Word of God. We don't wish to create a cult, but rather to learn exactly what God has said, and then to react to it in an appropriate manner.
His Word. His Way. His Terms. Whether we like it or not! After all, He's God. He derserves our respect.
Are we Christians? Sure, although that term is claimed by plenty of people who don't really know Jesus Christ personally, despite what they think of their faith. We prefer to be called Bible-Believers and Jesus-Followers/Worshippers. A lot of so-called Christians don't fit that description, but that's exactly what we're learning to do as God opens His Word to us each day. It's actually pretty cool...
